SCS Engineers is seeking an Industrial Wastewater Engineer in the Overland Park office to continue our expansion of our landfill leachate and industrial wastewater management practice. You can be hybrid in any SCS office in the Southeast.Responsibilities for this position will include:

• Oversight for Liquids Management activities in the Southeast including staff recruitment and development, business development, growth and profitability, quality control, and fostering good overall team morale.
• Involvement in strategic planning, marketing proposals, interviews, and direct engagement with public and private clients in marketing, project production, and related issues.
• Ensuring that the work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through a proactive project management system.
• Continuous implementation, monitoring, and support of company policy.
• Selecting, training, developing, and managing technical personnel.How you can make an impact:

• Providing direction and leadership for the program.
• Managing projects and personnel as necessary to meet both client and SCS expectations.
• Business development including but not limited to: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows.
• Staff recruitment and retention.
• Applying intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles.
• Preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
• Making decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, planning and coordinating work, and representing the company at meetings and conferences.
• Office-based tasks including but not limited to: Project Management, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
• Fieldwork in varied terrain and weather may be required, including but not limited to site visits with clients and staff.
• Providing technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering required.
  • P.E. license required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience, including experience managing design teams required.
  • Technical experience in design of industrial wastewater treatment systems, piping, and process controls as well as report preparation, permit coordination, and construction phase services.
